Find boat owners

1Request the slip lists

These marinas are owned by their cities, so their slip records are public under Florida law. You don't have to say why you want them — Florida courts have ruled the requester's reason is legally irrelevant.

Public Records Request — Chapter 119, Florida Statutes To the Custodian of Public Records, Under Chapter 119, Florida Statutes, I request access to and a copy of the following records for the municipal marina: 1. The current list of slip and dry-storage lease holders, including tenant name, mailing address, vessel name, vessel length, and slip or space number. 2. The current marina waiting list, including applicant name, mailing address, and vessel length if recorded. If any portion is exempt, please redact only that portion and produce the remainder, citing the specific statutory exemption for each redaction. An electronic copy (spreadsheet, CSV, or PDF) sent by email is preferred. If fees will exceed $25, please contact me with an estimate before proceeding. Thank you for your time.

What to expect: a reply within days to a couple of weeks. They may charge a small fee for staff time — that's normal and legal. If they redact something, they must tell you which exemption they're citing.

2Load the list into your pipeline

When the spreadsheet comes back, paste it here. One boat per line. Everything lands in your Leads tab tagged as a prospect, and anyone already in there gets skipped automatically.

3Working the list

Open the Leads tab and filter to prospects. Each one gets a call or a card — nobody gets skipped.

Before calling, check the number against the federal Do Not Call registry (free lookup at donotcall.gov). If it's listed, don't call — mark the lead DNC and send a postcard to their address instead. Mailing is always allowed.
The opener

"Hi, is this [name]? This is [your name] with John's Pass Boat Care — we're the dockside detailing crew right here at John's Pass. I'm calling because we take care of a few boats at [marina] and I saw you keep [boat name] there.

We do monthly wash plans and full details right at your slip, so you never have to move the boat or be there. Can I text you a couple of before-and-after photos from one we did this week? If it looks good we can go from there."

The photos do the selling. The only goal of the call is permission to text them. (The map finder writes this script out for each person automatically.)
